MetMania
Fashion Styling
A Discover Design 2026 Competition
Conceptualized and curated by The Design Venue
Group Competition - 6 to 10 members
OVERVIEW:
What happens when worlds collide?
What if Lady Whistledown reported from the Formula One paddock? What if Minecraft characters arrived at the Met Gala? What if anime heroes ruled the Mughal courts?
METMANIA challenges you to imagine worlds where the unexpected meets fashion. Inspired by iconic editorials, cinematic storytelling, and runway spectacles, this year's theme celebrates the collision of pop culture, history, mythology, professions, and fantasy.
Whether elegance meets adrenaline or mythology meets organised crime, every crossover is an opportunity to tell a bold visual story.
Through styling, photography, hair, makeup, accessories, and character building, create a fashion narrative that doesn't just showcase style - it builds an entirely new world.

THEMES
1. Fandom Fusion (JUNIOR CATEGORY):
Where Iconic Worlds Become One
Some worlds were never meant to meet—or perhaps they always were. Reimagine iconic universes by blending their aesthetics, cultures, characters, and identities into one seamless fashion narrative. Celebrate the excitement of unexpected crossovers where fantasy, history, pop culture, and storytelling come together on the runway.
Bridgerton × Formula One
The Fast and the Fabulous
Regency elegance meets racing adrenaline.
Think pearls and pit stops.
Corsets and carbon fibre.
Gloves and helmets.
2. Beautiful Contradictions (SENIOR CATEGORY):
Opposites Never Looked This Good
Fashion thrives on contrast. Some of the most unforgettable creations emerge when two completely different worlds collide instead of conforming. Beautiful Contradictions challenges you to merge unlikely identities into a single cohesive universe, proving that conflict can become couture and opposites can create harmony.
Corporate × Circus
PowerPoint presentations by day.
Acrobatics by night.
Think tailored suits with theatrical drama.
Pinstripes and exaggerated collars.
Because maybe the corporate world has always been a circus.
