Discover Design is India’s largest inter-school design festival—a celebration of creativity, innovation, and design thinking for students from Grades 9 to 12. Through workshops, exhibitions, and competitions, students explore disciplines like graphic design, fashion, architecture, animation, photography, product design, and more.

2. Who is organising Discover Design?
Discover Design is conceptualized, initiated, and organised by The Design Venue, a leading preparatory design school that mentors students pursuing careers in art, architecture, design, and fashion.
We offer coaching for NATA, NID, NIFT, U/CEED, and help students build strong portfolios for admissions to top institutes in India and abroad.
The event is powered by our expert team of architects, designers, academicians, and design thinkers.​

3. Who can participate in Discover Design?
Students from Grades 9–12 (or equivalent) across all school boards are eligible.
Design aspirants and creative enthusiasts beyond school can also attend the workshops and exhibitions.

 

4. Do I need to be good at drawing to participate?
Not at all! Discover Design celebrates all forms of creativity. Whether you’re into storytelling, photography, animation, fashion styling, or DIY crafts, there's a space for your talent.

 

5. What does event registration include?

6. Can I register for more than one competition or workshop?
Yes! You can participate in multiple competitions. For workshops, you may register for 1 workshop and 1 seminar.

 

7. How do I register?
Go to discoverdesign.in. Choose your city under the Explore, Engage, or Experience sections and follow the registration process.

9. Can I participate in a city I don’t live in?
Yes! You’re welcome to register for any city—Bangalore, Mysore, or Trivandrum. Just make sure you can travel to the venue on the event day.

 

10. Will I get a certificate?
Yes, all participants receive certificates of participation. Winners get trophies, digital badges, and in some cases, mentorship or internship opportunities.

 

11. Will there be prizes or recognition?
Absolutely! Winners receive awards, online recognition, and access to exclusive mentorship opportunities post-event.

 

12. What are the dates of the main event in each city?

Mentoring will be held online before the event.

19. Is the competition individual or team-based?
Some competitions are individual; others allow teams. Please check the specific competition brief for details.

 

20. What if I can’t attend the physical event but still want to participate?
Select competitions may offer online submission options. Hybrid opportunities will be announced on our platforms.

 

21. Will this help me build my design portfolio or career?
Yes! Participation and feedback from mentors can directly contribute to portfolio content and career clarity. Many past participants have gone on to join top design schools

 

22. How can students or parents connect with mentors after the event?
We’ll send a follow-up mailer post-event with mentor-connect links and portfolio-building opportunities.

 

23. Is there a dress code for the event?
No strict dress code—smart casuals are ideal. Some workshops are hands-on, so dress comfortably.

 

24. What do I need to bring if I’m selected for the finals?
We’ll send detailed instructions, but each competition has specific requirements.

In general, carry:
A valid photo ID
Your work, mounted on the templates provided
Any materials or tools mentioned in the competition brief
Stay prepared, stay creative!

 

25. Will the event be photographed or recorded?
Yes! The event will be professionally photographed and filmed. Select moments will be shared on our social media and YouTube channel.

 

26. Will shortlisted work be displayed publicly?
Absolutely! Finalists’ work will be exhibited in the Experience Zone and highlighted across our digital platforms—with credit.

27. Can parents and teachers attend the event?
Yes! They are welcome to explore the Experience Zone, attend career talks, and view exhibitions. Some workshops may be limited to students only.

28. Will there be food at the venue?
Yes. There will be food trucks and stalls, including student-led pop-ups and refreshment counters.

 

29. Are private institutions allowed to participate, or only CBSE/ICSE?
Discover Design is open to all school boards—CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE, State Boards, and private institutions. Creativity has no boundaries!

 

30.Are there follow-up programs after Discover Design?
Yes! We offer advanced design workshops, portfolio bootcamps, and creative webinars year-round.​
