WHAT IF A STATIONERY POUCH COULD BE A
DESIGN MASTERPIECE?
Imagine this. You're an aspiring designer. Your world revolves around pencils, pens, cutters, markers, USBs, scales, and sketchbooks.
Now… What if you were asked to reimagine the very thing that holds them all?
Welcome to Artifex Pods — a hands-on product design competition where YOU design and build a functional, sustainable, original stationery box or pouch—with your own two hands.
No digital tools. No shortcuts. No filters. Just raw design intelligence, material exploration, and team power.
​This is your chance to turn an everyday object into a smart, problem-solving product that makes real users’ lives better, with your creativity, craftsmanship, and collaboration.
Who can participate?​​​

​Open to students in Grades 9–12

Team size: 2 or 3 students
-
Entries per team: One only
-
Schools can send multiple teams
​This is a team challenge. Bring together thinkers, makers, and builders!

​​WHAT’S THE TASK?
Design and build a stationery pouch or box tailored for a design or architecture student.
Your product must:
-
Solve a real need
-
Be functional, usable, and well-crafted
-
Be made using traditional non-digital methods only (no 3D printing, digital rendering, or CAD)
-
Incorporate sustainable or recycled materials wherever possible
-
Be presented beautifully — with concept, sketches, and storytelling

This is all about smart design thinking, responsible making, and hands-on creativity.​

Key Dates

GENERAL RULES & GUIDELINES

All work MUST be submitted using the official Discover Design templates.

Only hand-drawn sketches, ideation, and models allowed.
-
No digital tools or edits permitted (sketching/rendering/3D/Photoshop).
-
All team submissions must be original. Plagiarism is prohibited.
-
Submissions must be uploaded by the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted.
-
Use only stock/reference images with appropriate commercial licenses if needed.
-
Avoid content that is inappropriate, offensive, sexist, violent, or plagiarised.

Promote your work — Instagram votes may boost your score!
-
Final content may be used by Discover Design and The Design Venue for publication, social media, or educational promotion (with credits).

WHAT TO SUBMIT?​​​
